Age Verification
Where Aloha provides age-restricted features or access to age-restricted content, Aloha may offer an age verification feature to determine whether a user meets the applicable legal age requirement.
Age verification may be carried out using Aloha's own systems and/or third-party service providers, selected by Aloha from time to time. Where third-party providers are used, they are engaged solely to perform age verification services and are independently responsible for their compliance with applicable data protection, security, and regulatory requirements.
Where age verification is performed directly by Aloha, any image or visual data used for this purpose is processed locally on the user's device and is neither transmitted to nor stored by Aloha; Aloha receives only the age-verification result (for example, confirmation that the applicable age threshold has been met). Where third-party verification providers are used, users provide the required verification information directly to those providers, who process such data independently in accordance with their own privacy notices and applicable law. Aloha does not receive, access, or store any biometric data, identity document images, or other underlying verification materials used in the verification process, and receives only the age-verification result.
Aloha may use anonymized or aggregated technical data to maintain and improve the accuracy, security, and reliability of the feature. Such data does not include photographs, biometric templates, or information that directly identifies a user and is processed using privacy-preserving technical and organizational measures, including encryption and data minimization. Depending on the implementation, Aloha may act as a data controller or processor, while publishers and partners remain responsible for lawful use of the results and user disclosures.
